SLJ WK1 A1 - 'The Legend of New Zealand'

Three Fun Facts about NZ!

  1. New Zealand has no snakes! (Thank god)
  2. There have been several movies filmed in the country. The most popular ones are 'Once were Warriors,' 'The Whale Rider,' 'The Piano' and of course, 'Lord Of The Rings.'
  3. 30% of the entire country is made up of forest.
This was the first activity, which I probably should've posted first, ahem, anyway... This is three fun facts about NZ, as you can see. We had to look at a list of facts about NZ, and then choose our top 3. After that, we had to write our top 3 in our own words. Leave a comment, and have a nice day.

  1. Kia ora Tara,

My name is Rachel and I am working on the Summer Learning Journey programme again this year with Jordan. We are so excited to see you back! We had really been hoping that you'd rejoin the programme this year and when I signed onto my computer tonight I see that you have been busy over the week-end. Welcome back!

I had to smile when I read this post and you mentioned that you should have posted it first, before the 'Ice, ice, baby' activity. It really is completely fine with us if you post the activities in a different order or skip activities and come back to them. We've created the programme to be flexible so, go ahead and do it anyway that you like!

For this activity, I appreciate it that you provided us with some facts that are less commonly known. For example, I did not know that 30% of the country is made up of forest. That is quite a bit! I suppose that I shouldn't be so surprised because I live in Titirangi and we are surrounded by bush out there! I actually used to live in Papakura and our house backed onto a farm with a big forest so it kind of makes sense! Do you have any forest around your house?

I hope that you'll continue to blog with us and teach us new and interesting things this summer. Jordan is going to be so happy to see that you're blogging again! I'll send her a little note to let her know!

    Bye for now,

    Rachel :)

    1. Kia Ora Rachel,

Hi Rachel, its nice to see you again too. I'm glad to be back and blogging for the Summer Learning Journey!

I'm glad it made you smile. And, whew, I didn't know you could post it in different orders and it would be fine, so glad to hear that from you.

Wow, you live in Titirangi? Sounds cool to have all that forest around you. The closest I get to a forest I guess would be my bed hair. No, I'm kidding, that was a joke. Seriously, I don't have any forest. I have one or two trees, but thats it.

I'm glad to continue blogging with you guys and I hope you learn a few things from my posts too. Have a nice day!

      Merry Christmas,
      Tara

(Try not to crash into Christmas, because its right around the corner.)
