WK2 D1 A3 - 'Something Smells Fishy'

Something Smells Fishy...

True Or False

Well, this took shorter than I expected.
Anyways, I had to do a True Or False activity about fish, there are 5 facts about fish, and we had to write if the facts are true or false. Enjoy, I guess.

  1. The oldest known fish in the world is a 65 year old Australian Lungfish: TRUE
  2. Sharks are the only fish that has eyelids: TRUE
  3. Starfish are a type of fish: FALSE
  4. Fish communicate with each other by making low-pitched sounds: TRUE
  5. Fish usually swim in groups called classes: TRUE
Have a great day!

  1. Kia Ora Tara,

Nice work completing another Summer Learning Journey activity. True, this activity is shorter than usual. Did you still find it interesting to complete?
Fact number five has managed to trick a lot of students. This fact is actually false because when fish swim in groups they are called 'schools' not 'classes'. Did any of these facts surprise you at all? I was unaware that sharks are the only species of fish that have eyelids. This fascinated me! I'm curious to know if you know any other peculiar facts about marine life that you could share with your readers.

I look forward to reading your response.

    Thanks,

    Jordan

    1. Kia Ora Jordan,
Another activity! I did find this activity quite interesting, actually. I didn't know the fact was false, though I was confused while finding the answer. Fact number two surprised me until I really thought about it. I'm glad you learned something new! I don't do many research on marine life, so I don't know much.

      Have a great day,
      Tara
