WK2 D1 A2 - 'The Great Taupo Cycle Challenge'

The Great Taupo Cycle Challenge

My Support Crew

If I was able to compete in The Great Taupo Cycle Challenge, the three people I would bring for my support crew would be:

  1. My Mum, she would  probably record me cycling, as well as taking photos. I would be able to look back at the time I went there by going through the photos. That way I won't forget the time.
  2. I would bring my friend Samantha, she would encourage me and cheer me on as I go. She would be very supportive.
  3. Lastly, I would bring my sister, because I know she wouldn't want to come. She would put a bit of pressure on me, which is totally fine, and get me hyped for cycling.

  1. Hi Tara

You are doing a great job in completing the Summer Learning Blogging activities. A very thoughtful answer to who you would take to the Great Taupo Cycle Challenge. It actually got me thinking of the three people I would bring. I would definitely take my mother as she would totally take live videos and post them on social media for the rest of the family to see. I would take my daughter to encourage me to finish. Finally I would take my husband so he can do all the running around for me after the challenge, because my legs will be like jelly.

I wonder if our support crew would be similar to those who do the challenge?
    Keep up the great blogging

    1. Kia Ora Mrs P,
Thank you for leaving a positive comment on my post. You thought of great people for your support team, I agree with you! Don't worry, my legs would be like jelly too. Reminds me that I am very hungry. I think the people doing the challenge would probably bring their parents, and at least one friend.

      Have a great day,
      Tara

  2. Kia Ora Tara,

Well done on completing another Summer Learning Journey activity. What a support crew you have put together! You have some great reasons to why you've selected your mum, your friend Samantha and your sister. I think it's really interesting how you said your sister would put a lot of pressure on you. However, the right amount of pressure that would be you hyped for cycling. I can relate to this too, pressure from siblings is often out of love and can often be quite beneficial! With all that support from your friends and family, you're bound to win the race! Do you like bicycle riding? Could you ever picture yourself competing in a race like this?
Thanks for sharing with us Tara. I look forward to reading more of your blog entries.

    Thanks,

    Jordan

    1. Kia Ora Jordan,
This activity certainly took longer than I had expected. Thanks for leaving a positive comment on my post! I thought about the people that would make me feel positive, and also help me remember that its not about coming first place, its the effort and fun that counts. I love riding my bicycle. I can picture myself in a race like this, but I'm not as 'experienced' I guess, so I definitely wouldn't come first place, but maybe somewhere in the middle. I hope you enjoy the rest of my posts!

      Have a great day,
      Tara

  3. Kia Ora Tara,
You have such a loving, supportive crew to support you when you cycle. I love hearing that your mum would take photos as my mum would do the same! Ka Pai! It is good that someone will put some (in your situation, your sister) pressure because it makes you sometimes more determined. Your friend would be a really good choice because she seems very supportive.

Maybe next time you can describe what the Taupo cycle challenge is.

    Happy Blogging
