WK1 D4 A1 - 'Scaling New Heights'

Scaling New Heights

Sir Edmund Hillary

If I met Sir Edmund Hillary and got to interview him, these are five questions I would ask him.

  1. Have you always wanted to climb mountains?
  2. Did you always think climbing mountains looked easy?
  3. Would climbing a tall mountain be your biggest achievement so far?
  4. Have you ever been afraid of heights?
  5. Do you enjoy climbing mountains?

Thanks for completing another SLJ activity, 'Scaling New Heights', and for providing five questions you would like to ask Sir Edmund Hillary. I really appreciate your fourth question, "have you ever been afraid of heights"— what a conundrum for Sir Edmund Hillary if this were the case! I'm sure he would have a lengthy response for you. Climbing Mount Everest was not only a HUGE achievement for Sir Edmund Hillary, it was also a HUGE achievement world wide, especially considering the time in which he achieved this brave mission. Why do you think it would have been much more difficult to climb Mount Everest when he did, compared to climbing Mount Everest now?

Don't forget to add images to your posts, especially when they're shorter ones such as this— adding images really help with the aesthetics of your page and your post :)

Keep up the great work, Tara!

    Cheers,

    Jordan

    1. Kia Ora Jordan,
Thank you for your lovely comment! I'm sure he would have a lengthy response for me too. Climbing Mount Everest must've been very hard work, since it was a huge achievement for Sir Edmund Hillary. (For your question) I think it depends on the equipment you have. For example, if you forget something, or if you don't bring something because you thought you didn't need it. And, like Sir Edmund Hillary, you would need experience too. Climbing it now I think would be the same at the time he climbed Mount Everest.
I'll remember to add images to my posts next time. Thanks for the advice!

      Have a nice day,
      Tara
