Waitangi Day
You can take a trip as a visitor at Waitangi. Here are 3 cool things to do there!
1. When your hungry, there's a restaurant and a bar there to eat and drink!
2. You can take a tour around the Waitangi River for some photos!
3. Live Kapa Haka performances are there for you to watch and enjoy.
Kia Ora Tara,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like there are a number of great things to do for visitors in Waitangi. I would personally love to walk along the river and take some pictures. What about you? Which of the three options that you have listed above, would be your favourite?
I hope that, one day, I can take my son (Aronui) to Waitangi to watch a Kapa Haka performance and take pictures by the river. He is going to join the Kapa Haka group at his school next year. They don't allow students under the age of 8 to join and he is currently 7 1/2. Do you have a Kapa Hapa group at Papakura Central School?
Wishing you and your whanau a great holiday season and a good start to 2018. It's pretty crazy to think that it's almost time to welcome in a brand new year.
I wonder what 2018 will have in store for us...
Keep up the great work with your blogging, Tara. We're really enjoying your posts!
Cheers,
Rachel
Hi Rachel!
DeleteQuick notice, I'm not up to date. I'll try to be, and by the time I write this comment its a fresh year, 2018! At PCS we have a Kapa Haka group. I was in it. I don't think I'll join this year. I like the first one I listed. In my family, I am known to eat all the food sometimes. Ha, ha.
Bye!
Tara.
Hi Tara! No worries - we'll look forward to reading your blog posts as you're able to complete them. There is lots of time left before school starts to log on and blog with the Summer learning Journey programme.
DeleteIt is pretty amazing to think that it's already 2018 - a brand new year!
Hope that you've had a good start to 2018. We've been doing lots of baking around our house because it was my partner's birthday last week. He loves biscuits so we made him chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies. What is your favourite kind of biscuit? Do you have one?
Looking forward to reading more of your blog posts when you have time to hop back online and share them.
Cheers,
Rachel :)
Kia Ora,
ReplyDeleteThat sounds great Tara! You have been very busy completing some awesome posts on your blog. It would be so cool to visit the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, it looks so beautiful from photos I have seen. Have you visited Waitangi before? Does your family do anything special on Waitangi Day?
I use to be in the Kapa Haka group when I was at school, it was one of my favourite things to do. I had a very cool teacher who took the group to see Te Papa in Wellington so we were able to learn more about the Maori culture.
Keep up the fantastic blogging!!
Cadence :)
