Fabulous Flora
Flax Weaving
If I had the chance, I would try flax weaving. It doesn't look easy, but it still sounds interesting, so its worth a try. And with a bit of practice I might be able to make a few things. I think they look really cool in the end, despite how long it would take to do it. I just need to be in the right mood for doing it most of the time, but now I definitely would do it. Plus, its nice trying something that you haven't tried before, so it'd definitely be a nice challenge for me. I hope you have a great day!
Hello Tara,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Claire and I go to Owairaka Primary School. I',m doing SLJ too.
I like your post about flax weaving, I like how you said 'It's nice trying somethings you haven't tried before'.
This post reminds me of when I first tried out weaving, I was making helping to make a mat for the class, the teacher asked if anyone wanted to help weaving and no one answered at first. Then, my teacher said that we should always try somethings first and if we like it, we can do it again.
Next time I think you could add pictures of things you would like to weave. I've weaved a flower, mat and cloak before.

You've been doing great so far, keep up the good work!
Thx,

Hello Tara,
ReplyDeleteI love your positive attitude about flax weaving, even if sometimes you're in a bad mood, you still stay positive. It is really good that you love trying new, different things.
I like how you said you would like to take a challenge because it didn't seem easy, because that shows resilience. They indeed look very cool when you finish, and I would love to see you try it in the future. I would personally try to find the hardest looking pattern to show off to my family and friends (in a good way).
What would you make with the weaving?
Happy Blogging

Hello Tara,
ReplyDeleteI am Vitaraag. Flax weaving does sound really cool. I would try it to. What would you make if you were to do flax weaving? I would make a sword. Do you know what flax weaving is? I didn't know until I read this blog post that means you put in lots of effort in this blog post. Maybe next time you can say if you want flax weaving to be your hobbie or job. Keep up the amazing work!

Kia Ora Tara!
ReplyDeleteWell done for finishing this SLJ activity 'Fabulous Flora' and for telling us whether or not you'd like to try weaving harakeke (flax). I'm so happy to read that you'd like to give it a try, even though you understand that it may be time consuming. You provide excellent reasoning for giving it a go and I'm really impressed that you're not one to throw in the towel even though you know it may be difficult.
It looks as though you've attracted quite a bit of attention from other clusters, too! Well done, you must be really happy with this :) 14 followers?! You have more followers than I have on my Google + profile!
I look forward to seeing you at your school prize giving in two weeks time. Enjoy the rest of your holidays and I'll see you then!
Cheers,
Jordan

ReplyDeleteMalo Tara,
DeleteCongrats on completing this activity for the SLJ programme, thanks for that. I would totally agree with you by giving flax weaving a go as I haven't done this is a very, very long time. Your reasonings make your piece of writing sound more interesting and gives more attention to all the readers of your blog. I think the right time of flax weaving is probably on a sunny day but when you feel bored. Flax weaving sounds super, duper interesting and I cna't wait to eventually try it sometime.
Overall fantastic work Tara, I can't wait to see more amazing work soon. Keep up the great work and I'll be back (hopefully) with more comments.
If you were able to make something out of flaxs,
What would be the first thing you would make for someone?
Cheers,
Hinerangi
