Excitement filled the audience as bright, loud, fireworks burst
into the air. BOOM! Excited and pleased cheers filled the
neighborhood. CRACKLE! The fireworks sink down, little
sparks hitting the grass. People clap and lean towards the
person beside them, chattering about the wonderful sight.
More are lit and they explode into the night sky, the stars
glistening. Eyes lit up as more fireworks fired off into
the skies. BANG! Startled citizens back up in shock.
FIZZ! It sprinkled back down, some flares spreading
across the grass, fading away. Many yells filled the
air, questions following them. “Is it over yet?” A few
questioned. Sparklers were given out, the sparks
bouncing away. Children stared at the sparklers
intently, slightly tempted to touch it. The adults
warn them with a serious tone in their
voice. Some shivered in the chilly weather,
hugging themselves tighter. The luminous stars
dance in the moonlit sky. Some people hold a hand
to their ears. BOOM! BANG! Sudden fireworks
burst off. The invisible, fluffy clouds shuffle along.
The younger children yelp and hide behind their
parents, wincing at the sound. Those who feared
the loud noise show their smiles when they think it’s over.
They jump, startled by another shooting off into the
sky and ending with a BANG! The youngest children
tug on the sleeves of their parents. Some walk off,
heading back home as a cold breeze shot by. Another
darted into the night sky, sparks bursting off in
different directions. A shooting-star-like firework
followed behind it, very quick and making a loud,
squealing noise. It then faded away, as they all do,
applause exploding into the cold air. Grey smoke
clouded the air. It surrounds the audience, the smell
unpleasant. Everyone scrunches up their noses,
waving the smell away. People begin to leave as
the sky darkens. That was Guy Fawkes.
